St. John Fisher Parish Lenten Series: 4225 Chichester Avenue in Boothwyn welcomes all to share the Lenten Journey. Each refection will be on Thursdays at 7:00 PM in church. Fr. Francis Sariego OFM, Cap. will speak about the spirituality of Saint Padre Pio on March 24; Dr. Mary Beth Yount of Neumann College will share her reflection about the Rosary and Marian Devotion on March 31 and Mr. Massimo Paris will bring a life sized replica as he helps us understand the spiritual meaning of the Shroud of Turin on April 7. Soup Luncheon and Coffee House at Holmes Presbyterian Church: The Youth Group of Holmes Presbyterian Church (375 Holmes Road) will hold a Soup Luncheon Fundraiser March 19 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A bowl of soup, beverage, roll and dessert will cost $8.00. Lenten Series 2022: The Ridley Area Catholic Churches are pleased to announce the reinstatement of the Lenten Series. All are welcome to come and enjoy this wonderful program. Please bring a friend. Five Ridley Township Area Catholic Churches will again host a weekly Lenten series entitled “The Sacraments” on five consecutive Tuesday evenings starting March 1, 2022 (the evening before Ash Wednesday). Each evening will feature a talk on a different Sacrament, and each evening will be hosted by a different parish at 7:00 PM. The program will include Evening Prayer, Benediction, talk by a different guest speaker each week, and then a social for attendees Tuesday, March 8 – 7 PM – St. Francis of Assisi Church, Springfield – “Eucharist”. The program will include Evening Prayer, Benediction, and the speaker will be Dr. Kelly Anderson, Associate Professor at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. A social will follow the program. Tuesday, March 22 – 7 PM – Our Lady of Peace, Milmont Park – “Baptism” The program will include Evening Prayer, Benediction, and the speaker will be Ms. Meghan Cokeley, Director, Office for the New Evangelization, Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The Food Bank is open Thursdays 7-8 p.m .and the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. The church also serves the community through its Clothing Closet which is open Thursdays 7 – 8 p.m. and every Saturday from 10 a.m. – Noon The Transition Town Media Free Store is located at FUMC and serves as a place to donate used items and take (for free) items that can be used or repurposed. First Church offers free Beginner Yoga Classes Wednesday at 10 a.m. and Saturday at 9 a.m. There is no charge, but donations are welcome.
