LOCK HAVEN — Emma’s Primitives is gearing up to celebrate three years in business.

Owner Tamy Lamey said she’s beginning to plan a special event for May, when her store first opened at 8 Bellefonte Ave. in downtown Lock Haven.

“I’m planning a big sale event for May,” she said.

Emma’s Primitives opened on May 3 in 2019 and has a little bit of everything.

Emma’s Primitives has small furniture, decorative household items, lamps, wall hangings and kitchen items — just for starters.

The store also stocks a large variety of Hershey’s ice cream to enjoy on a hot summer day. There are a dozen flavors to choose from and you can have your choice of a cone or bowl. Last summer, Lamey installed a walk-up window for those who’d like to get their ice cream on the go.

Lamey is hopeful to see many smiling faces at the window as the temperatures warm up. It’s located in the alleyway between her building and Jersey Shore State Bank.

New this year, Lamey is stocking four flavors of Italian ice, too, that may just hit the spot on a particularly hot day.

“I’m hoping to put some tables behind my store for people to sit and enjoy ice cream,” Lamey said.

In April, Lamey will be adjusting her hours for the summer to 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
